About the role
Role Overview
The Ash Group is hiring a Data Engineer for a client in the US agricultural private credit industry. This is a 6–12 month remote contract for candidates based in Minnesota (MN).
Responsibilities
- Design and implement modern Lakehouse architectures
- Use AWS managed services to build data platform components
- Work with open table formats such as Iceberg
- Run compute in EKS/Argo workflows environments
Requirements
- 4–5 years of recent data engineering experience (specifically AWS)
- Proficiency as a software engineer rather than a DBA
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts
- AWS Lakehouse Architecture expertise
- Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks
Nice to Have
- DataOps practices
- CI/CD experience for data pipelines
- Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation (infrastructure-as-code)
Contract Details
- Duration: 6–12 months
- Location: Remote, must reside in MN
- Pay: $74/hour
- Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, direct primary care; after 6 months, 4% matched 401(k) with immediate 100% vesting
