Data Engineer (GCP, Matillion)

Overview

You will join an agile team responsible for designing, building, and scaling business data products on a modern cloud data platform. You’ll work with business stakeholders and IT partners to turn complex data requirements into reliable analytical solutions.

What You’ll Do

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and data products on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Dataflow, Dataform, and Matillion
Use BigQuery to model, store, and deliver data for analytics and BI/advanced analytics applications
Develop and maintain analytics solutions for BI/data visualization tools (e.g., Quick Suite / Looker)
Gather requirements with stakeholders and translate them into technical design specifications and discovery documentation
Write clean, efficient, well-tested software including SQL scripts and procedures to meet functional and performance needs
Troubleshoot and resolve data/application issues, including post-implementation and rotational on-call support
Provide technical leadership and mentorship, promoting best practices
Partner with external vendors on co-development initiatives
Maintain proactive communication on status, risks, and concerns; ensure solutions follow departmental SOPs and contribute to process improvements

Must Have

GCP
Matillion (spelled “Matillio” in the posting)

Nice-to-Haves (implied)

Experience with Dataflow, Dataform, and BigQuery
Familiarity with Looker (and/or similar BI tools)
Strong SQL and data pipeline testing practices
Experience with on-call/production support and issue resolution
