About the role

Role Overview

The Data Engineer sits in Sennos’ Data & Analytics organization and helps develop and improve the company’s modern data platform. You will build and maintain reliable data pipelines and transformations that feed a Snowflake-based warehouse used for analytics, reporting, machine learning, and product capabilities.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Python
Develop transformations using dbt (or similar) within a Snowflake warehouse
Create and optimize datasets and views for analytics, reporting, ML, and product features
Handle ad hoc data requests accurately while maintaining data integrity and consistency
Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and testing processes
Support data contracts enforcement between source systems and the warehouse
Assist with reverse ETL to operationalize warehouse data into downstream systems
Contribute to ML data preparation and feature pipeline workflows
Collaborate with Data Architecture, Analytics Engineering, Product, and Software Engineering teams
Contribute to documentation, governance, and continuous improvement of data engineering standards

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in data engineering or a related data-focused role
Experience with ETL/ELT and structured warehouse data
Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred)
Strong SQL (joins, window functions, query optimization fundamentals)
Proficiency in Python for data processing, scripting, or automation
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git)
Strong troubleshooting/debugging skills and commitment to data accuracy
Good written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Snowflake (or similar cloud warehouses)
Experience with dbt (or similar transformation frameworks)
Introductory dimensional modeling concepts
Experience with data quality tests/validation frameworks
Exposure to data contracts and schema management
Familiarity with reverse ETL concepts
Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow or Dagster)
Familiarity with CI/CD for data workflows
Experience using AI-assisted tools for debugging/pipeline development
Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
