Role Overview

Data Engineer (Remote / Contract) at Verve. You will help build and operate customized reporting and data pipelines for clients while collaborating closely with product, strategy, QA, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Product and Strategy to build customized reporting solutions for clients
Integrate new internal data sources and third-party APIs to enhance reporting capabilities
Streamline processes to enable rapid prototyping for new client reporting needs
Work with the Platform team to create monitoring to ensure data integrity
Experiment with new technologies to find the right tools
Use Kanban to manage multiple releases per week
Maintain high code quality via code reviews and automated tests

Requirements

2+ years of relevant experience
Built customer-facing dashboards and reports using data visualization tools such as Holistics, Looker, or Tableau
Comfortable writing SQL and working with large structured or unstructured datasets
Designed schemas and optimized queries for a data warehouse such as BigQuery or ClickHouse
Built and maintained batch ETL/ELT jobs using an orchestration platform such as Airflow, Temporal, or Dagster
Familiarity with Google Cloud or AWS big data products

Contract & Work Setup

Fully remote, 40 hours/week
Contract role; can work remotely anywhere in the US or outside the US
Collaborate with US-based engineering team during their business hours

Compensation

$30–$50 USD per hour
