About the role
Role Overview
Prominence Advisors is looking for a Data Engineer to help customers solve complex healthcare data challenges. You will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and workflows that transform raw sources into clean, reliable, scalable data streams.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and workflows
- Transform diverse raw sources into analytics-ready data structures
- Ingest and deliver data from sources such as EHRs, claims, APIs, and CRM
- Partner with customers to tackle new technical challenges and ensure project success
- Support knowledge transfer by teaching counterparts how to sustain and expand deliverables
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles
- Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and debugging
- Proficiency in Python (or similar scripting languages such as Scala or Java)
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud/data platform such as:
- Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery
- Familiarity with tools and concepts including:
- dbt (or similar transformation tools)
- Apache Airflow (or other orchestration frameworks)
- ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and data modeling concepts
- Cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Nice to Have
- Healthcare domain knowledge (Epic, HL7, FHIR, claims)
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps workflows
- Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Real-time/streaming tools (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)
- Containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud or data tool certifications
