About the role

Role Overview

Mindex is seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing data platform team. You’ll build and maintain data pipelines, models, and transformations in Snowflake using dbt, turning raw, messy source data into analysis-ready datasets.

What You’ll Do

Build and maintain dbt (Core) assets: models, tests, macros, and lineage documentation
Design and optimize Snowflake objects including dynamic tables, views, and schemas for performance and clarity
Develop and support data ingestion pipelines using tools such as Informatica, Fivetran, or Openflow
Profile and analyze source data from complex, multi-domain systems (e.g., HRIS, payroll, client platforms) to identify data quality issues
Write advanced SQL to investigate data, validate transformations, and answer ad hoc business questions
Collaborate with data architects to implement canonical data models and ensure consistency across domains
Document data quality findings, transformation logic, and modeling decisions clearly for technical and non-technical audiences

Required Qualifications

3+ years hands-on experience with advanced SQL
2+ years with dbt Core (models, tests, macros, sources, lineage)
2+ years with Snowflake (dynamic tables, views, performance tuning, schema design)
Experience with ingestion/replication tooling: Informatica, Fivetran, or Openflow
Proven ability to profile and analyze data from complex or poorly documented systems
Python proficiency for data processing and pipeline support
BS degree in Computer Science/Data Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
