Role overview

Azumo is seeking a Data Engineer to design and enhance big data and analytics infrastructure. The role is fully remote and based in Latin America, working with a growing engineering team.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable, high-performance big data infrastructure (on-prem and cloud)
Build and improve data pipelines, data services, and data warehouses
Support BI and ML platform development
Work with technologies such as Spark and Kafka, plus Snowflake or similar frameworks/platforms
Manipulate, analyze, and visualize data

Requirements (Basic)

5+ years in data-related and data management responsibilities
BS/Master’s in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
Deep expertise in data warehouses and big data analytics systems
Practical experience with data manipulation, analysis, and visualization
Self-driven with strong work ethic and problem-solving mindset
Professional English proficiency (B2/C1)

Preferred qualifications

Experience with cloud-based managed services such as:
- Airflow, Glue, Elastic Stack, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery
- Azure SQL DB, EMR, Azure, Databricks, Altiscale, Qubole
Experience using notebooks (e.g., Jupyter, Google Colab)
