About the role

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer (Junior or Senior) in Progressive’s CRM Direct Acquisition Experience team, you’ll support Real Time Decisioning (RTD) AI/ML experiments. You will build and operate real-time data pipelines and cloud infrastructure that enable business-owned ML model serving APIs and partner with Business and IT to design next-generation generative/agentic infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy real-time data pipelines, including CI/CD deployment.
  • Engineer and support ML model features and the infrastructure powering ML model serving APIs.
  • Work hands-on with Business and IT partners to plan and build generative/agentic infrastructure for business applications.
  • Support the end-to-end ML/data pipeline lifecycle, including monitoring and operational readiness.

Requirements (Must-have)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline (or related field) plus at least 1 year of experience designing, programming, and supporting software applications.
  • OR, in lieu of a degree: 2+ years related experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs/applications.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in Python and Linux Shell scripting for batch and real-time streaming pipelines.
  • Experience with tools/platforms such as Prefect, Snowflake, AWS S3, and AWS DynamoDB.
  • Familiar with AI model lifecycle support via cloud platforms (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, AWS Lambda, AWS SQS, and Azure OpenAI services).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code / GitOps (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD automation for real-time ML use cases (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for innovation and owning end-to-end projects.

Work Setup & Schedule

  • Remote (US-based work only)
  • Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm ET

Compensation & Incentives

  • $97,650–$131,200/year depending on level and experience.
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive up to 30% of eligible earnings (company performance based).
