About the role

Role Overview

Work as a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data infrastructure supporting analytics, business intelligence, and operational decision-making. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data movement, transformation, and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for integration, transformation, and storage
  • Build and optimize data warehouses, databases, and data models for reporting and BI
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (IT, analytics, product, business) to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production data workflows to ensure high availability, integrity, and performance
  • Implement data governance and security (compliance, access controls, encryption, data quality standards)
  • Conduct data analysis to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Stay current with industry trends and recommend improvements
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3+ years in data engineering, ETL development, or data management
  • Strong SQL and database expertise (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Experience with data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and scalable distributed systems
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
  • Excellent collaboration and communication in fast-paced cross-functional environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with workflow orchestration/pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory)
  • Knowledge of data governance/security/compliance in regulated domains (e.g., healthcare)
