About the role
Role Overview
Work as a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data infrastructure supporting analytics, business intelligence, and operational decision-making. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data movement, transformation, and governance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for integration, transformation, and storage
- Build and optimize data warehouses, databases, and data models for reporting and BI
- Collaborate with stakeholders (IT, analytics, product, business) to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Monitor and troubleshoot production data workflows to ensure high availability, integrity, and performance
- Implement data governance and security (compliance, access controls, encryption, data quality standards)
- Conduct data analysis to support operational and strategic decisions
- Stay current with industry trends and recommend improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3+ years in data engineering, ETL development, or data management
- Strong SQL and database expertise (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Experience with data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and scalable distributed systems
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
- Excellent collaboration and communication in fast-paced cross-functional environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with workflow orchestration/pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory)
- Knowledge of data governance/security/compliance in regulated domains (e.g., healthcare)
