Role overview

Data Engineer II at Storable. You’ll help design, build, and optimize the company’s data platform, partnering with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and actionable.

Key responsibilities

Build & maintain data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming data from multiple sources.
ETL/ELT development: design and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for efficient and reliable data delivery.
Workflow orchestration: schedule and manage data workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow.
Data quality & reliability: implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring.
Data modeling & warehousing: contribute to schema design and data warehouse optimization.
Query & distributed processing: use tools such as Trino (Presto) and Apache Spark (or similar) for distributed processing.
Infrastructure & performance optimization: improve performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency using AWS.
Monitoring & troubleshooting: identify pipeline/workflow issues and implement long-term fixes.
Cross-functional collaboration: work with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in data engineering, data infrastructure, or related roles.
Proficiency in Python (or similar) for data processing.
Familiarity with SQL and distributed query engines (e.g., Trino/Presto).
Exposure to Apache Spark (or similar processing frameworks).
Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
AWS/data platform experience including S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena.
Strong understanding of data modeling/warehousing and schema design.
Experience with data validation, quality checks, and governance best practices.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience with modern data formats such as Apache Iceberg.
Familiarity with BI/visualization tools like Looker or Tableau.
Experience in a SaaS or product-driven environment.
