Data Engineer / Front-End Developer (Senior Staff)

Role overview

Senior Staff engineer to lead frontend development for the ADDER team and its federated data layer products. You will be the primary leader and point of contact for customer-facing designs and the UI platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend development for customer-facing UI platform and federated data layer products
• Gather requirements and translate designs into working code
• Implement and maintain frontend services with ongoing support
• Create reusable UI component libraries and supporting web technologies
• Collaborate closely with team engineers, customers, and internal leadership
• Provide documentation and software design/architecture for frontend services
• Support and improve UI/UX workflow design and development

Requirements (Basic Qualifications)

• Proficiency in Python/JavaScript (or other web-service programming language)
• Core web development experience with HTML/CSS/SCSS
• Strong communication skills
• Strong UI/UX workflow design and development ability
• Strong documentation skills
• Experience with frontend software design and architecture

Desired skills

• Jira and Agile methodologies
• Git version control
• Node.js, Next.js, React (or other web frameworks)
• API design/development/maintenance
• SQL querying and data interfaces
• End-to-end testing (including UAT) and performance evaluation
• Project planning and scheduling
• Customer presentation experience
• Experience creating reusable UI components

Bonus skills

• Docker and automated deployment tooling (e.g., ArgoCD)
• SSO and authentication/access control technologies
• AI integration and usage

Work model

• Full-time remote with occasional travel to Lockheed Martin offices for periodic meetings
