About the role

Role Overview

Fieldwire is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Data & Operations team. You will own the data infrastructure and pipelines powering reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines moving data into a central data lake/warehouse
- Sources include Salesforce, Xero, Ramp, and product databases
Own end-to-end data architecture (storage strategy, processing systems, pipeline orchestration)
Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows into clean, analytics-ready datasets
Translate reporting requirements into technical data solutions with stakeholders (Data Insights Managers, Finance, Revenue Operations, Product)
Implement data validation and quality checks to prevent bad data reaching reporting layers
Monitor pipeline health in real time; triage and resolve failures to meet data availability SLAs
Enforce data standards (naming conventions, schema consistency) and access controls
Support integration and maintenance of key systems (Salesforce, Xero, Ramp, Greenhouse) into the data lake
Maintain auditability of data flows and support compliance/governance requirements
Collaborate on the data roadmap and architectural decisions

Requirements

2–3+ years of experience in Data Engineering (or equivalent)
Strong SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred)
Hands-on ETL/ELT pipeline development at scale
Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks
Familiarity with orchestration/transform tools such as Airflow, dbt, Fivetran, or Airbyte
Strong knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data lake architecture
Experience integrating SaaS platforms via APIs/connectors
Strong problem-solving with a rigorous approach to data quality and reliability
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Clear written communication and documentation for non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

Experience at a SaaS/technology company
Familiarity with Salesforce data structures/reporting layers
Exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau)
Experience with real-time/streaming pipelines
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and access control models
Prior support for a GTM or Finance data stack
