About the role

Role Overview

You will support the design, development, and maintenance of enGen’s data infrastructure—ensuring efficient, reliable movement, transformation, and storage of data across systems. You’ll collaborate with data professionals, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to build and optimize data pipelines while maintaining data quality and integrity.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain data processes and solutions for moving and transforming data across multiple systems.
Develop and maintain data models, databases, and data warehouses for BI and analytics.
Collaborate with stakeholders (IT, product, analytics, and business) to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
Monitor work against the production schedule and provide regular progress updates and issue reporting.
Implement and manage data governance, focusing on data quality, integrity, and compliance.
Collaborate on data security measures (access controls, encryption, data masking).
Perform data analysis to generate insights for cross-department decision-making.
Stay current with data engineering trends and recommend new tools and best practices.

Requirements

3+ years designing and analyzing algorithms, data structures, and design patterns for scalable, highly available systems.
3+ years in data engineering / ETL development / data management.
3+ years of SQL and experience with database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
3+ years with data warehousing concepts and experience with warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

Preferred

5+ years with data pipeline/workflow management tools (Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory).
5+ years defining system architectures and feasibility trade-offs for short-term execution vs long-term capability.
5+ years designing/developing data solutions for healthcare.
5+ years with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
5+ years with data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
Experience translating requirements/mockups/prototypes/user stories into technical designs.
Experience writing fault-tolerant, efficient, and maintainable data-related code.
