Role overview

Elder Research is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms for ingestion, transformation, quality, and analytics use cases.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across diverse data sources.
Ingest and transform data using SQL and Python, supporting flat files, JSON, XML, Excel, APIs, and graph databases.
Work with Lakehouse architecture and modern ingestion patterns (streaming and batch).
Load, manage, and optimize data in Databricks Unity Catalog and SQL Server managed instances.
Implement data quality, lineage, reliability, and performance controls while collaborating cross-functionally.
Apply data governance and data management standards aligned with enterprise data management (EDM) practices.

Requirements

3+ years of professional experience in data engineering (or related field).
Strong SQL and Python for ingestion and transformation.
Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and enterprise data management (EDM) practices.
Hands-on experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and SQL Server managed instances.
Experience with streaming/batch ingestion frameworks and Lakehouse architecture.
Proven ability to implement processes for data quality, lineage, reliability, and performance.

Preferred qualifications

Experience supporting fraud detection, anomaly detection, or financial oversight analytics environments.

Work arrangement & location

Remote (USA), full-time.
