About the role

Role Overview

DTN is seeking a Data Engineer to support the ingestion, quality, integrity, reliability, and governance of enterprise data. The role contributes to DTN’s modern data and analytics architecture so that customers and internal teams can use trusted, scalable, and secure data solutions.

Responsibilities

Deliver trusted datasets and data services from complex sources to support customers and internal stakeholders
Design and support modern data/analytics architecture via data integration, acquisition, and management
Build and maintain data pipelines and ingestion processes with data quality, reliability, and scalability
Troubleshoot and optimize data environments to support customer/partner infrastructure needs
Improve data management standards, practices, and architectural patterns over time
Document data engineering processes, standards, and best practices to drive adoption across teams
Ensure solutions incorporate data governance, security, and compliance requirements
Identify opportunities to automate processes, reduce complexity, and improve operational efficiency
Create reference architectures and documentation for consistent approaches to acquisition, transformation, storage, and analytics consumption

Requirements

2+ years of data engineering experience (pipelines, data ingestion, ETL/ELT) or 2+ years of software engineering experience
2+ years of cloud experience (preferably across multiple cloud platforms)
Strong programming skills in Python (or Java/Go)
Experience with ETL/ELT, SQL, and data transformation workflows
Working experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
Experience with AWS and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or AWS-native solutions
Ability to design for data transformation, governance, workload management, and complex data structures
Knowledge of cloud architectures and highly available, scalable systems
Familiarity with Agile and CI/CD practices
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

Front-end technology experience (React, Angular, Vue)
Experience developing RESTful APIs using Node.js or Python
Experience consuming REST and GraphQL APIs
