About the role

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer (Data Platform), you will design and implement robust Data Platform solutions for IntelliScript’s data, supporting healthcare-focused enterprise needs. You’ll ensure alignment with industry-leading data privacy standards and collaborate with cross-functional agile teams on data architecture and best practices.

Responsibilities

Data Platform

Create Databricks Data Warehouse(s) and Lakehouse solutions for a healthcare data enterprise
Build infrastructure for extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) from diverse data sources
Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines, including monitoring and performance optimization

Data Governance & Security

Configure and maintain Unity Catalog for enterprise data lineage and data quality
Implement data security protocols and best practices for identified/de-identified (PHI/PII) handling

Data Engineering & Delivery

Build external data products for clients, maintaining reliability, quality, and performance
Implement transformations using Delta Live Tables and automate ETL processes
Design enterprise medallion architecture(s)
Build near real-time streaming and batch solutions
Support large-scale handling of both structured and unstructured healthcare data

Platform Engineering & Operations

Build Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Asset Bundles
Support cost management with cost-effective, transparent data solutions
Work on pipeline/ETL management: architecture, build, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization
Use migration tools such as Fivetran and integrate AWS and custom solutions

Requirements (as stated)

Experience architecting and building scalable, robust data pipelines with monitoring and optimization
Experience with migration tools such as Fivetran
Experience building ETL/ELT using SQL, Delta Live Tables, and Python
Working knowledge of data governance (Unity Catalog) and data security for PHI/PII

Nice-to-haves / Additional signals

Experience with Databricks lakehouse/warehouse solutions
Familiarity with streaming and batch processing for healthcare data
Background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Experience implementing pipeline monitoring solutions
