Data Engineer

Role Overview

Join Burq as a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure that powers analytics and AI decision-making. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams to keep data clean, reliable, and analysis-ready, and help shape the foundation of the company’s data capabilities.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, clean, and transform data from multiple sources.
• Own the data infrastructure, using cloud-native solutions and modern data tooling to ensure reliability and performance.
• Implement monitoring, validation, and governance to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering (startup or high-growth environment preferred).
• Builder mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, fast iterations, and working in a small team.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with at least one programming language: Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools: Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Hands-on experience with data streaming: Kafka or Kinesis.
