Data Engineer

Role Overview

Join the Bridgeforce Data Solutions team to design and create enhancements to the data environment. You’ll work on everything from data modeling and database development to building reliable data routines that power analytics and the company’s products.

Responsibilities

• Translate business and data requirements into technical designs (data models, schemas, validation rules, processing specifications)
• Improve data exception handling with robust validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and alerting for data quality
• Tune and optimize tables/schemas to improve data processing efficiency and reduce runtime/operational overhead
• Extend the data environment for new sources and data types (ingestion, normalization, backward-compatible schema evolution)
• Create derivative datasets (e.g., benchmarking datasets) and implement de-identification approaches to protect/ remove PII while preserving analytical value
• Document requirements, track progress against milestones, and maintain processes/procedures and user guides for the analytics suite
• Support onboarding of new data sources and client data feeds (mapping rules, validation checks, go-live readiness criteria)
• Support the data environment for both clients and internal initiatives; maintain confidentiality to protect operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• 1–2 years of direct experience (or equivalent via internships)
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset; inquisitive and organized
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively; self-motivated “can-do” attitude
• Strong time-management and ability to meet multiple deadlines
• SQL and Redshift development experience
• Experience with Python and shell scripting
• Strong understanding of data warehouse/dimensional modeling concepts
• Use AI-enabled coding assistants as part of daily development (e.g., Kiro, Claude Code, or similar)
• Clear communication skills, strong written English, especially when meeting with clients

Preferred Qualifications

• ETL experience (Ab initio / Informatica / DataStage or similar)
• Experience in financial services, especially consumer lending
• Experience writing procedures and technical documentation
• Familiarity with AWS environments
• Prior experience with dynamic/start-up teams
