About the role

Role: Data Engineer

You’ll work on a dedicated data warehousing team to design and implement core data engineering capabilities. The role includes building ETL workloads, supporting data scientists and other internal teams, and assisting with data modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement ETL processes in a cloud environment
  • Build monitoring solutions for ETL workflows
  • Document datasets for data warehouse consumers
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal consumers, especially the Data Science Team and business units

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building ETL processes
  • 4+ years with one or more cloud-hosted databases (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Redshift, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of ETL principles and practices
  • Excellent SQL and Python skills
  • Experience with IaC tools and integrating infrastructure changes into CI/CD pipelines
  • Actively use AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) in day-to-day development to improve productivity and code quality
  • Data modeling expertise
  • Strong organization and time management skills for independent and team-based work
  • Ability to translate business needs into engineering tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terraform experience
  • dbt experience (dbt certified is a plus)
  • Familiarity with nonprofit CRM data (donor management, fundraising, constituent engagement)
  • Experience with third-party ETL tools: FiveTran, Qlik Replicate, Airbyte
  • PowerShell or other scripting languages
  • Experience managing semi-structured data
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum/Scrumban workflows
  • Familiarity with AWS technologies
