About the role

Data Engineer

You will support the enterprise systems and services used to collect, store, process, and analyze structured and unstructured data—enabling data-driven decisions across Aegon.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, analytics teams, and business product owners in an agile environment.
Support cloud and on-premises enterprise data infrastructure and tools.
Design and support data pipelines to automate ingestion, processing, and delivery of:
- structured data
- unstructured batch data
- real-time streaming data
Design and support data APIs and data delivery services.
Assist with testing and integration of data tools, frameworks, and applications.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, engineering, or a relevant technical field.
Related exposure or experience in one or more of:
- data engineering, data analytics, data warehousing
- database administration, data integration, business intelligence
Exposure or experience developing distributed applications.
Exposure or experience with Linux operations (basic commands and shell scripting).
Exposure or experience applying DevOps methodologies and CI/CD.
Knowledge of SQL and basic database queries.
Results-oriented mindset with strong customer focus.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a technical field.
Understanding of big data and real-time streaming analytics processing architectures and ecosystems.
Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools.
Software development experience in relevant languages (Java, Python, Scala, Node.js).
Relevant technology/platform certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft).
