Data Engineer ($130k - $170k)

Data Engineer (Remote - United States)

Reporting to the Director of Data & Analytics, this is a hands-on, individual-contributor role on the Data & Analytics team.

Responsibilities

• Build & maintain ELT data pipelines using Fivetran and custom integrations
• Ingest and centralize data from sources including ERP platforms, Salesforce, project management tools, and internal databases into Snowflake
• Develop and maintain analytics models with dbt (transformations, testing, and documentation)
• Create dimensional models (fact/dimension, staging layers) optimized for BI and ad-hoc analysis
• Ensure data quality & reliability using dbt tests; monitor pipelines and troubleshoot from detection through root-cause resolution
• Integrate new data sources via APIs and data connectors
• Maintain clear documentation for pipelines, models, and business logic
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into scalable datasets
• Monitor and optimize performance (query performance and warehouse utilization; cost/scalability)
• Participate in code reviews and follow Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices
• Use AI coding assistants/agent-based tools daily to accelerate development, testing, debugging, and documentation

Requirements (Must-Have)

• 3–5 years of data engineering / analytics engineering experience
• Hands-on production experience with:
  • Fivetran (or equivalent ELT tooling)
  • Snowflake (or comparable cloud data warehouses)
  • dbt (modeling, testing, documentation)
  • Advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, complex joins, optimization)
• Comfort with AI-assisted development for SQL and dbt workflows

Nice-to-have

• Experience with AI coding assistants and agent-based tools specifically used for SQL/dbt testing, refactoring, and debugging
