About the role
Role Overview
The Data Analyst will support all phases of designing, developing, and implementing a CMS program. You’ll work with a project team to report progress, identify risks, and provide data-focused technical guidance across multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Participate in design sessions; report on project progress and identify potential risks and issues.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to support data warehouse application processes.
- Perform data validation, including handling regular and ad hoc data requests.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets and queries to support decision-making.
- Evaluate data anomalies to ensure data quality.
- Conduct ad hoc data analysis for predictive analytics and fraud analytics using machine learning.
- Provide guidance for Development and O&M database engineers.
- Support data warehouse/data-driven application work using Scala, Python, and Java (including big data platforms).
- Support the collection, validation, and reporting of program metrics.
- Provide data collection, verification, and analysis for reporting.
- Review and understand artifacts related to data ingestion and transformation for validation and analysis.
- Perform quality assurance support using Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Streamline internal processes and support organization needs using analytics/BI tools.
- Support programmatic questions and stakeholder requests with ad hoc analysis.
- Help determine project requirements, goals, implementation approach, and schedules.
- May provide training for internal users and customer stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5–8 years experience delivering and implementing large, complex, data-centric systems.
- 3 years experience with data management and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Qlik, R, Python, SAS Viya, Power BI).
- Ability to define and document testing criteria and scenarios and compare/reconcile expected vs. actual results.
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting and validating data.
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical teams; strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Public Trust clearance required; must have lived in the United States for 3 out of the past 5 years.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assessing and delivering timely data analysis/solutions against client requirements.
- Experience supporting customer satisfaction through follow-up and responsiveness.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Healthcare IT experience and/or CMS familiarity preferred.
