Role overview

Data Analyst Assistant supporting a Dubai-based investment firm engagement. You will organize and validate financial/operational data and turn it into clear spreadsheets, charts, and written insights that help principals assess holding company health, performance, and governance questions.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize financial and operational data from multiple portfolio companies.
• Clean and validate datasets to ensure accuracy for client presentations.
• Build simple, effective spreadsheets to track performance indicators for large holding companies.
• Draft reports that translate quantitative findings into clear written arguments.
• Monitor industry trends and perform basic market research for ongoing strategic mandates.
• Maintain internal historical records, ensuring data is accessible and correctly categorized.
• Prepare charts and graphs that simplify complex financial structures for board-level reviews.
• Support corporate governance document audit by cross-referencing quantitative findings with qualitative reports.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of basic statistics and logical problem-solving.
• Proficient in spreadsheet tools; able to handle large datasets without errors.
• Excellent written communication; ability to explain what numbers mean in plain English.
• Curiosity about how large corporations and family groups operate across sectors.
• High precision: verify calculations before submitting.
• Degree or ongoing studies in a quantitative field (e.g., economics, finance, mathematics).

Nice to have

• Experience/interest in corporate governance, strategy, and/or investment analysis (inferred from the mandate focus).

Working model

• Fully remote, relying on documentation and asynchronous communication.
