About the role

Role Overview

The Cybersecurity Analyst will protect the organization’s systems, networks, and data by monitoring security events, identifying vulnerabilities, investigating incidents, and implementing security controls. This is a fully remote role requiring strong analytical skills and proactive cybersecurity practices.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and security monitoring tools
Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents in a timely manner
Perform vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts
Monitor network traffic and identify suspicious or malicious activity
Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and best practices
Conduct risk assessments and recommend security improvements
Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to strengthen the security posture
Support initiatives around endpoint protection, IAM, and data protection
Maintain security documentation, incident reports, and compliance records
Support security awareness training and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity/information security/security operations
Knowledge of network security (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS), endpoint security, and SIEM
Experience with security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Qualys, Tenable
Understanding of security frameworks: NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, SOC 2
Familiarity with Windows, Linux, cloud security, and networking concepts
Strong incident response, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

Security certifications: CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security
Scripting skills: Python, PowerShell, or Bash
Background in vulnerability management, penetration testing, or threat intelligence
Familiarity with compliance standards: HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA
