Responsibilities

Requirements
- SQL fluency, including hands-on experience with query plans, isolation levels, and performance bottlenecks.

- Java or Kotlin proficiency; ability to read, write, and debug JVM-based connector code.
- Comfort with JDBC and database drivers, including debugging connection, authentication, SSL, and SSH tunnel issues.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and ELT/ETL data integration concepts.
- 2+ years in software engineering, data engineering, technical support, DevOps, QA, or a similar role supporting technical users.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and operate as a self-starter.
- Flexibility to work Sun–Thu, Mon–Fri, or Tue–Sat shifts.
Nice-to-haves / additional skills
- Experience with data lakes and open table formats such as Iceberg and Delta Lake, and object storage (S3, GCS, Azure Blob).
- Experience with Kubernetes or Docker and multi-tenant architectures.
- Experience across databases/warehouses (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, ClickHouse, or similar).
- CI/CD and GitHub-based open-source workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and building runbooks/playbooks.
- Familiarity with Airbyte Bulk CDK and/or contributions to database connector open source.
Location / work model
