About the role
Role Overview
Customer Account Manager – C-Store at Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream (DGIC). This is a remote-based role with preference for candidates located on the East Coast of the United States. You will help drive customer growth by selling, negotiating, and executing business plans using customer and category tools and data.
Responsibilities
- Sell and negotiate: Sell, negotiate, and execute business plans.
- Build a sales story with data: Use business intelligence and customer/category partnership tools (with Customer Account Associate and Customer & Category Manager).
- Promotions & retailer collaboration: Communicate with the retailer to collaborate on and execute promotions.
- Shelf space & presentations: Create new item presentations using data-specific information; consistently modify as needed.
- Forecasting: Create and consistently update sales forecasts by category.
- Promotion negotiations: Negotiate monthly promotions with the customer.
- Contract compliance: Understand customer contracts and operate within guidelines to ensure policy compliance.
- Trade spend management: Manage trade spend to maximize profitability while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Vendor collaboration: Work with outside vendors to create promotional synergies.
- Performance analysis: Analyze promotion effectiveness using IRI and other data reports.
- Competitive monitoring: Monitor the competitive landscape to protect exclusivity and deter competitor poaching.
Required / Expected Skills
- Ability to leverage business intelligence/data to drive selling strategy and forecasts.
- Strong negotiation and retailer collaboration skills.
- Cross-functional coordination with internal teams supporting the customer.
- Contract and trade spend management mindset to maintain compliance and profitability.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working in C-store or grocery retail categories and promotion/forecasting processes (implied by role scope).
- Experience analyzing retail performance data (e.g., IRI-style syndicated data).
