Creative Director/ Director Digital Creation (m/f/x)

Role Overview

Lead the Digital Creative Unit at Virtual Identity and raise the bar on digital marketing and communication creative output. You’ll combine strong strategic reasoning with boundary-pushing creative thinking, while shaping how the team works with AI—without losing the human driver behind great ideas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Digital Creative Unit, fostering team growth and individual talent development
• Shape the team’s approach to AI in creative work (direction, pace, and craft improvement)
• Develop, refine, and guide creative ideas from concept to execution
• Connect strategy and creation in day-to-day work
• Set clear expectations and handle conflicts effectively
• Present creative concepts convincingly to (potential) clients, communicating value and impact

What We Expect

• Experience as Creative Director / Head of Digital / Creative Strategist (or similar) in a digital agency environment focused on digital marketing and communication
• A genuine, informed point of view on AI and how it changes creative work
• Proven track record of strong, boundary-pushing creativity with clear strategic rationale
• Exceptional communication skills to inspire and motivate a team
• Strong ability to set expectations and stand by them

Nice to Have

• Leadership experience (explicitly noted as a plus)
• Fluent German (advantage) and/or being based in Austria (advantage)

Language Requirements

• Fluent English required
• Fluent German is an advantage
