Role Overview

Join Runway as its first Corporate Development & Capital Markets hire. This strategic and operational role works closely with the CFO and the executive team to lead M&A, external capital allocation, investor relations, and fundraising, while helping shape the narrative for capital and strategic initiatives.

Key Missions

• Own external acquisition and capital allocation strategy, driving investor relations and supporting financing.
• Lead strategic M&A and complex transactions from initial thesis through due diligence and negotiation.
• Build a rigorous corporate development and capital markets function (processes, best practices, frameworks) to enable scaling.
• Drive capital structure and financing strategy.
• Manage relationships with current and prospective investors and support fundraising.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in investment banking, M&A, private equity, venture capital, or corporate development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities.
• Familiarity with financing instruments across the capital structure.
• Genuine curiosity and informed perspective on the generative AI and capital markets landscape.
• Ability to credibly partner with technical teams (e.g., engineers and researchers) on product and technology.
