About the role
Role: Corporate Counsel
You’re a technology-aware lawyer who can balance urgency with rigorous legal analysis. You handle legal matters where technology, risk, and business needs intersect, including investigations and cybersecurity/insider-risk situations.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage internal investigations related to IP, confidential information, and insider threats, coordinating with InfoSec, HR, and business teams to gather facts, assess risk, and guide resolution.
- Partner with Information Security on legal and regulatory matters for data protection, cybersecurity response, insider risk programs, and protection of proprietary technology and trade secrets.
- Advise engineering, product, and business teams on IP ownership, confidentiality obligations, licensing structures, and technology transfer considerations (including semiconductor IP, EDA tools, and AI development).
- Draft, negotiate, and review agreements involving licensing of copyrighted works, software, and other intellectual property, aligning terms with business goals and managing risk.
- Assess legal considerations for strategic initiatives, partnerships, and emerging technology projects; translate guidance into practical direction for senior stakeholders.
- Develop policies, procedures, and training to protect company assets and support legal/regulatory compliance globally.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across Legal, InfoSec, HR, Engineering, and Product Management to enable business progress while managing risk.
Requirements
- Experience in technology-adjacent legal work involving IP, insider threats, and cybersecurity incidents.
- Strong judgment to distinguish issues requiring a hard stop vs. those needing workable mitigations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with InfoSec, HR, and engineering/product teams.
- Comfort with technology concepts to understand what’s at risk in source code, licensing structures, and third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with drafting agreements and advising on confidentiality.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting semiconductor/AI technology contexts (e.g., EDA tools, AI development) and/or insider risk program legal frameworks.
