About the role
Role Overview
As Controller, you will be a senior leader on the Finance team, responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across US and international entities. You will ensure the integrity of financial data and provide clear, timely, GAAP-compliant numbers to leadership to run and grow the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close: manage the close calendar and process; deliver accurate, timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with deadlines, checklists, and accountability.
- Reduce close timelines over time while improving accuracy and documentation.
- Perform holistic financial review: investigate results, billing, and key reports to detect errors and anomalies before they compound.
- Prepare GAAP-compliant consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations.
- Maintain and improve GAAP compliance in the monthly books.
- Improve and maintain the chart of accounts and general ledger structure.
- Partner closely with the Fractional CFO on broader finance initiatives and work cross-functionally with CEO, COO, operations leadership, sales, and HR.
Requirements / What You Bring
- Experience as the Corporate Controller of a growing, multi-entity company.
- Ability to build a world-class accounting organization and act as the senior accounting leader.
- Strong understanding of GAAP reporting and internal controls.
- AI proficiency: use AI to improve efficiency without relying solely on it; remain accountable for work produced/augmented by AI.
Remote / Location
- Remote position with occasional travel for in-person leadership meetings, planning sessions, and key close cycles.
- Collaboration across sites including Burlingame, Stockton, and field sites, plus international teams in Ireland, India, and Singapore.
