Consultant, Agile Leader

Role Overview

Nationwide Technology is seeking a Consultant, Agile Leader to lead Agile delivery for the Pillars of Annuity line within the Annuity Modernization Program. You will guide Agile delivery across a large, complex environment with strong business and technology partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Agile delivery practices for the Annuity modernization pillars.
• Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum standard work, product centricity, and continuous improvement.
• Drive cross-team planning, manage dependencies, and coordinate Scrum of Scrums.
• Remove blockers, surface risks early, and escalate issues when needed.
• Partner with product, engineering, architecture, and delivery leaders to align priorities, sequencing, and capacity.
• Ensure work is visible and maintained in Jira and supporting delivery tools.
• Use delivery insights to improve predictability, flow, and value delivery.
• Lead teams through change management, strengthening accountability, collaboration, and ways of working.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience serving as an Agile Leader, Scrum Master, or similar role in large-scale technology delivery.
• Proven track record leading large teams in complex programs.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum standard work, team coaching, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated success with change management and operating model shifts.
• Product-centric mindset and ability to connect delivery practices to business outcomes.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder influence skills.
• Jira experience (required).
• Microsoft 365 tools experience (required).

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience in insurance, annuities, or financial services.
• Planview experience.
• Familiarity with API-based integration patterns.
• Kafka experience.
• Agile certifications such as CSM, PSM, or SAFe.

Work Arrangement & Location

• Hybrid role.
• Must be in-office in Columbus, Ohio every Wednesday and Thursday.
