Consultant, Agile Leader

Role Overview

Nationwide’s Software Engineering Solutions team is seeking a Consultant, Agile Leader to drive software delivery excellence across Personal Lines Solutions and the broader P&C Technology organization. You will coach agile teams, remove impediments, and foster collaboration to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, and influence team members on Agile practices and principles.
• Remove impediments and escalate obstacles that require outside resolution.
• Identify risks and issues impacting delivery and lead mitigation strategy through facilitation and communication.
• Apply secure software and systems engineering practices across the delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate at a high level to prioritize work and maximize value toward business outcomes.
• Guide Agile Teams across the lifecycle: analysis, design, development, testing, automation, and deployment, while using best capability practices.
• Enable DevOps, DataOps, and AI/MLOps by adopting and refining Agile practices on complex, strategic work.
• Monitor and report on team progress and performance using enterprise/industry metrics.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in an Agile Leader or Scrum Master role.
• Strong facilitation and coaching skills.
• Deep understanding of Agile principles.
• Experience across the software delivery lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Jira, Planview, and Power BI proficiency.
• A-CSM certification.
• Familiarity with Policy Center.
• Knowledge of Personal Lines insurance.

Work Arrangement / Location

• Hybrid schedule with 2 days per week in-office (Mondays and Tuesdays).
• Must be based within a commutable distance to Columbus, OH or Des Moines, IA.

Work Authorization

• Role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization (no STEM OPT Extension).
