About the role
Role Overview
SK+I Architecture is seeking a Construction Administration Architect. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will collaborate closely with Principals, Project Managers, and staff to support construction-phase deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Manage overall construction documents; coordinate with the internal design team, consultant engineers, and municipal authorities
- Review shop drawings/submittals for compliance with quality and design specifications
- Answer RFIs and coordinate responses with the owner and general contractor to support cost-effective design solutions
- Coordinate RFI response and submittal review comments with consultants
- Conduct bi-weekly site visits, attend OAC meetings, and prepare field observation reports
- With the PIC/Project Manager, prepare Notices to Owners, certificates of insurance, and close-out documentation
- Review proposed change orders for Owner approval
- Review and approve monthly payment applications submitted by the contractor
- Log submittals and supporting documentation throughout the project
- Perform detailed CPM schedule analyses on as-built schedules to determine delay
Qualifications
- 7+ years minimum experience in the construction phase with one of:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture (preferred), or
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Engineering
- Architectural or Engineering registration (Revit preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, wood, concrete, steel, and high-rise projects
- Excellent management, organization, and people skills, including ability to work across staff levels
Work Location & Travel
- Fully remote for candidates based in the Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA area, with comfort traveling
Compensation
- Salary range: $85,000–$95,000 (based on experience and job-related knowledge/skills)
