About the role

Role Overview

SK+I Architecture is seeking a Construction Administration Architect. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will collaborate closely with Principals, Project Managers, and staff to support construction-phase deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall construction documents; coordinate with the internal design team, consultant engineers, and municipal authorities
  • Review shop drawings/submittals for compliance with quality and design specifications
  • Answer RFIs and coordinate responses with the owner and general contractor to support cost-effective design solutions
  • Coordinate RFI response and submittal review comments with consultants
  • Conduct bi-weekly site visits, attend OAC meetings, and prepare field observation reports
  • With the PIC/Project Manager, prepare Notices to Owners, certificates of insurance, and close-out documentation
  • Review proposed change orders for Owner approval
  • Review and approve monthly payment applications submitted by the contractor
  • Log submittals and supporting documentation throughout the project
  • Perform detailed CPM schedule analyses on as-built schedules to determine delay

Qualifications

  • 7+ years minimum experience in the construction phase with one of:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture (preferred), or
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Engineering
  • Architectural or Engineering registration (Revit preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, wood, concrete, steel, and high-rise projects
  • Excellent management, organization, and people skills, including ability to work across staff levels

Work Location & Travel

  • Fully remote for candidates based in the Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA area, with comfort traveling

Compensation

  • Salary range: $85,000–$95,000 (based on experience and job-related knowledge/skills)
