[Confluent] Senior Technical Program Manager

Role Overview

As a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will coordinate multiple Kafka initiatives across teams, stakeholder groups (including Product and Security), and geographies. You’ll provide cross-organizational planning and execution structure to enable predictable, on-schedule delivery of multi-quarter programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate horizontal, multi-quarter initiatives focused on cost optimization, margin improvement, and security programs
• Monitor and manage cross-team dependencies across organizations
• Drive planning, prioritization, risk management, and stakeholder communications
• Ensure execution through operational execution and technical trade-off discussions
• Shield development teams from unnecessary disruption and create structure for predictable delivery
• Lead cross-functional meetings and facilitate decisions related to:
  • schedules
  • bug triage
  • internal and external customer deliverables
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Security leadership to streamline execution
• Dive into technical challenges to support program success (e.g., performance, scalability, multi-region disaster recovery)
• Help Kafka teams understand upstream/downstream priorities and dependencies to unblock roadmaps

Requirements

• 4+ years of Technical Program Management experience managing end-to-end delivery of large, complex, cross-functional programs
• Strong operational mindset and experience driving cross-team dependency management
• Strong cloud fundamentals, especially cloud networking and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with Jira, BigQuery, and Google Apps Script

Nice-to-Haves / Preferred

• Master’s Degree
• Experience managing cloud-based projects and complex technical initiatives (performance, scalability, multi-region DR)
