Compliance Professional

Role Overview

Support a fintech client on a long-term secondment as a Compliance Professional (Gold Coast-based). The role focuses on risk and compliance activities with a strong emphasis on AML/CTF compliance, working closely with the client’s Legal, Risk, and Compliance team.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance the AML/CTF compliance framework, including AUSTRAC obligations
  • Customer due diligence, monitoring, risk assessments, and regulatory change implementation
• Provide regulatory compliance support across financial services and related laws (including privacy and consumer/marketing legislation)
  • Review customer communications and business practices
• Contribute to broader risk, compliance, and governance activities
  • Compliance monitoring, incident/breach management, reporting, policy development, and audit support
• Support product governance, customer outcomes, regulatory reform initiatives, remediation programs, and other compliance projects

Requirements

• Experience in compliance, risk, legal, AML/CTF, financial services, or another regulated industry
• Knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks (AML/CTF, AUSTRAC, financial services regulation, privacy, consumer protection)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret/apply legislative and regulatory requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; commercially focused approach to compliance
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (law, business, commerce, risk, compliance, or related)
  • Compliance/risk/AML certifications are highly regarded
