About the role

Role Overview

Compliance Manager for a rapidly growing healthcare organization focused on improving access to high-quality care. This fully remote role works as a trusted advisor to clinical, operational, legal, and leadership teams to navigate healthcare regulations, reduce organizational risk, and build scalable compliance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily compliance program operations and support risk management practices.
  • Conduct detailed compliance investigations related to:
    • Policy violations
    • Privacy concerns
    • Healthcare regulations
    • Potential fraud-related matters
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks by reviewing operational processes, new initiatives, and regulatory changes.
  • Develop key risk indicators (KRIs) and monitoring programs to measure compliance effectiveness.
  • Provide practical compliance guidance to employees, clinical leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Create, update, and maintain operational compliance policies.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, payors, and external legal partners for audits, accreditation, and compliance reviews.
  • Design and deliver compliance training aligned to day-to-day workflows.
  • Support corrective action planning, remediation, and continuous improvements.
  • Manage multiple compliance projects while collaborating across departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of healthcare compliance experience (ideally in a high-growth healthcare organization or startup).
  • 2+ years conducting, documenting, and resolving complex compliance and privacy investigations.
  • Experience managing external audits, identifying root causes, and leading corrective actions.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations including:
    • HIPAA/HITECH
    • State Medicaid requirements
    • OIG guidance
    • Corporate compliance standards
  • Ability to assess and prioritize risk and manage multiple high-impact projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; can explain complex regulations clearly.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence across teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally.
