About the role

Role Overview

The Cloud Solutions Architect will design and govern cloud-native solutions across compute, networking, data, identity, and security on a major cloud platform. You will partner with business stakeholders, security architects, and engineering teams to translate strategic objectives into scalable, cost-effective architectures aligned to enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design end-to-end cloud solutions across compute, networking, storage, identity, data, and observability
Lead and approve solution architecture reviews for major cloud initiatives
Define cloud landing zones, account structure, and tagging strategies
Create reference architectures, blueprints, and reusable patterns for engineering teams
Architect security, identity, and compliance controls embedded in the cloud foundation
Design networking topologies (e.g., VPC/VNet, transit hubs, hybrid connectivity, private endpoints)
Drive cloud migration, modernization, and re-platforming across application portfolios
Lead cost optimization and capacity planning using FinOps practices
Embed identity, data protection, and compliance controls from the outset (with security architects)
Produce architecture artifacts such as context diagrams, sequence diagrams, and decision records
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
Evaluate cloud provider/platform roadmaps and recommend adoption based on value and maturity
Ensure designs align with enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and regulatory obligations

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
8+ years in software engineering or solution architecture
Deep expertise designing cloud-native solutions on at least one major cloud provider
Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security primitives
Experience with cloud migration, modernization, and platform consolidation
Strong understanding of containerization, serverless, and managed data services
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to produce formal architecture artifacts and present to senior leadership
Track record of leading architecture reviews and influencing engineering direction
Cloud architecture certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Preferred Qualifications

Multiple cloud architecture certifications
Experience with multi-cloud (and/or hy...; truncated in the posting)
