Cloud Solutions Architect

Role Overview

ArcheSys Inc is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to design and help implement modern cloud and software architectures for government customers. This is a fully remote, full-time role with a strong focus on hands-on architecture, modernization, stakeholder alignment, and post-deployment optimization.

Responsibilities

• Solution Architecture & Delivery: Create comprehensive solution architectures aligned to business objectives and future growth.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Set up and maintain cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and deploy IaC using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams; facilitate workshops and gather requirements.
• System Integration & Modernization: Evaluate existing systems and propose enhancements/integrations; assess technology partners/vendors.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Produce architectural diagrams and technical specifications; lead training/workshops for adoption.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure solutions meet data privacy/security standards and regulatory requirements (public trust clearance required or ability to obtain).
• Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize implemented solutions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current on emerging technologies and advocate best practices.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Cloud Certification: Certification on at least one cloud platform—AWS (AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent).
• Clearance: Public Trust Clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Work Authorization: Must already be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD). No sponsorship.

Nice-to-Haves / Preferred

• Master’s degree and/or additional professional certifications (DevOps/SRE).
• DevOps/SRE-related certifications (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes experience/certification are implied by the truncated text).
