Cloud Solution Architect

Role Overview

Cloud Solution Architect to lead large-scale migration and modernization from on-prem data centers to Azure Government Cloud. Own end-to-end cloud transformation strategy, including architecture design, migration roadmap, modernization patterns, and governance alignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess current applications, infrastructure, dependencies, and overall cloud readiness
• Define target-state architecture for Azure Government Cloud environments
• Develop and execute phased migration roadmaps
• Select and implement migration approaches:
  • Rehost (lift & shift)
  • Re-platform
  • Refactor / Containerization / modernization
• Conduct cloud risk assessments and plan PoCs and implementation strategy
• Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and governance requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, SMEs, DevOps, DBAs, application teams)
• Define CI/CD pipelines and deployment models using Azure DevOps
• Establish environment strategy for Dev / Test / SIT / UAT / Production
• Design release management and rollback strategies
• Implement monitoring and observability using:
  • Azure Monitor / Log Analytics
  • Application Insights

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with Azure Government Cloud
• Strong Azure knowledge across:
  • Compute, Storage, Networking
  • Databases
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Security and Key Management
• Experience with migration & modernization (including tools/services such as Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, Database Migration Service)
• Dependency mapping and assessment
• Modernization with:
  • AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
  • Azure App Service
  • Azure Functions
  • Logic Apps
  • Microservices architecture
• DevOps & automation:
  • Docker & Kubernetes
  • Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
  • Release and rollback strategies
• Application & database development experience:
  • Java / Spring Boot
  • React
  • Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, and Azure-native database platforms
• Security & compliance experience:
  • IAM, encryption, governance controls
  • Working in regulated (Gov/Compliance-driven) environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering enterprise cloud transformation programs
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience
• Azure certifications (Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer preferred)

Compliance Requirement

• Supports projects subject to U.S. Export Control regulations (ITAR/EAR). Eligibility requires being a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Green Card holder (U.S. Persons).
