Cloud Solution Architect / Engineer

Role Overview

Cloud Solution Architect / Engineer to support Leidos’ capability incubation team within the CTO organization. The team runs agile proof-of-concept cycles to rapidly explore, evaluate, and mature new business concepts and technologies before production integration.

Responsibilities

• Explore solution options to address defined problems and opportunities
• Identify and evaluate industry solutions and recommend solution approaches/tools
• Develop and document high-level cloud designs and assessment/evaluation results
• Architect hybrid-cloud solutions across engineering and operations
• Evaluate new technologies and remain current on industry offerings
• Onboard and manage POC vendors, including risk assessment, compliance assessment, and remediation/investment plans
• Deploy green- and brown-field cloud environments in both AWS and Azure across commercial and government platforms
• Design enterprise-scale cloud migrations, including multi-terabyte transfers using over-the-wire delta syncing to minimize downtime
• Enable developer-focused integrations with tools such as Okta, GitHub, and Terraform for automated infrastructure provisioning
• Gather requirements and design large systems for global use
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support global cloud deployment across environments such as GCC and GovCloud (and commercial)

Requirements

• BS degree and 8+ years of experience (additional experience may substitute for a degree)
• 5+ years designing new solutions and 10+ years industry experience (as stated)
• Background as an engineer
• Strong requirements gathering and systems design skills
• Azure and AWS experience
• Cloud multi-governance experience (e.g., GCC, GovCloud, commercial)
• Excellent communication skills

• Industry certification: AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
• Health industry experience (advantage)

Pay Range (US)

• $107,900 - $195,050 (annual)
