Role Overview
Cloud Security Engineer (Hourly Contract)
Remote, sprint-based contract (12–24 hour stretches depending on project requirements). Commission/hourly rate is stated as $85/hour.
Responsibilities
- Complete and evaluate complex security engineering tasks using coding agents
- Review model-generated code and architectures for:
- vulnerabilities
- security risks
- implementation flaws
- Identify bugs, edge cases, and security-related failure modes
- Compare outputs from multiple models and assess strengths/weaknesses
- Apply engineering judgment to real-world cloud/security scenarios
Requirements
- Strong experience in security engineering
- Strong experience in one or more of:
- application security
- cloud security
- infrastructure security
- vulnerability management
- security tooling
- Strong experience using coding agents and developer productivity tools
- Ability to identify flaws in model-generated code and system architectures
- Strong experience securing production systems
Contract Details
- Hourly: $85/hour
- Typical tasks: ~$400 for work taking 2–3 hours after ramp-up
