About the role
Role Overview
The Cloud Platform Engineer designs, implements, and maintains secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure for enterprise applications and critical business operations. You will work closely with IT, Security, DevOps, and application teams to plan, deploy, and operate cloud environments while aligning solutions with organizational architecture and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud architecture & infrastructure: Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, or approved cloud platforms.
- Scalable design: Build scalable architectures across compute, storage, networking, and identity services.
- Infrastructure as Code: Support deployment using IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Optimization: Improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency by optimizing resource utilization.
- Security & compliance: Implement security controls (identity management, network segmentation, encryption, monitoring) and ensure internal/regulatory compliance.
- Risk & incident support: Collaborate with Security teams on risk assessments, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.
- Operational excellence: Monitor performance/availability/capacity; proactively resolve issues and optimize workloads.
- Documentation & DR: Maintain cloud environment/configuration documentation and support disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Collaboration: Partner with application teams to design cloud-ready solutions; provide troubleshooting and escalation support; participate in on-call rotations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles.
- Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS services.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- IaC experience with Terraform and/or ARM/Bicep and/or CloudFormation.
- Strong networking knowledge (e.g., VPC/VNet, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, load balancing).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT (or equivalent experience).
