Cloud Operations Engineer (2nd Shift, Weekend)

Role overview

As a Cloud Operations Engineer (2nd Shift, Weekend), you’ll support the operational success of MongoDB Atlas customers. You’ll handle day-to-day monitoring, investigate critical event logs, and perform server administration within a global cloud operations team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Atlas customer success by monitoring systems and reviewing critical event logs
• Perform server administration tasks
• Coordinate with a global Cloud Operations team to maintain availability guarantees
• Help implement new processes and tools to reduce incident mean time to resolution (MTTR)

Requirements

• Expertise with networking technologies (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP)
• Knowledge of database operations and related concepts
• Familiarity with AWS and other cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure)
• Strong Linux system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to write small scripts/programs to resolve short-term system issues
• 1+ programming languages: Java, Go, Python, JavaScript
• CS/CE degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years experience as an on-call DevOps/SRE/Cloud Operations engineer
• Experience with monitoring, system performance data collection/analysis, and reporting
• Knowledge of tools/technologies including Splunk, MongoDB, and Kubernetes
