Cloud Infrastructure Engineer I - Infrastructure

Role Overview

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer I supports WesBanco’s cloud adoption strategy across a multi-state enterprise environment. The role is focused on implementing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and helping drive automation and migration initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment
  • Deploy and support cloud infrastructure primarily in Microsoft Azure (with secondary exposure to AWS).
  • Assist in designing and implementing scalable, resilient cloud architecture.
  • Provision cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Develop and maintain IaC modules for repeatable deployments.
  • Support ARM/Bicep template utilization where required.
  • Maintain version control and CI/CD integration for IaC pipelines.
• Cloud Resource Management
  • Monitor, manage, and optimize Azure and AWS resources.
  • Apply tagging standards, enforce governance, and perform operational maintenance.
• Security & Compliance
  • Implement cloud security best practices (identity, access, encryption, monitoring).
  • Support remediation for cloud vulnerabilities and configuration drift.
  • Help meet regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., FFIEC, NIST, SOC, CIS, internal audit).
• Cost Optimization
  • Support cost governance (tagging, rightsizing, workload optimization).
• Cloud Automation & Migration
  • Automate operational tasks using PowerShell and/or Python.
  • Participate in application/workload migration projects.
  • Automate patching, configuration, and environment provisioning.
• Operational Support
  • Assist with incident resolution, root cause analysis, and performance troubleshooting for cloud workloads.
• Collaboration
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Networking, Security, DevOps, and Application Development.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Azure concepts: compute, storage, networking, IAM, policies, resource groups.
• Familiarity with AWS fundamentals: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC.
• Hands-on experience creating Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Basic experience with ARM or Bicep templates.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of cloud security architecture, IAM, and network security principles.
• Strong communication and analytical thinking; comfortable working in collaborative cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a regulated financial environment and complete compliance training.
