Cloud Infrastructure Architect (AWS) - Remote Opporunity

Role Overview

Cloud Infrastructure Architect supporting a federal Enterprise Data Platform modernization initiative. You will design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable, highly available AWS infrastructure, with a focus on networking, resilience, automation, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain AWS infrastructure for enterprise-scale data platform operations
• Build AWS networking architectures using VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, PrivateLink, and related services
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backups, and business continuity
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automation tooling
• Collaborate with cloud, data, and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions
• Support modernization, performance optimization, capacity planning, and infrastructure lifecycle management
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and operational procedures
• Participate in architecture reviews, deployment planning, and operational readiness
• Support monitoring, observability, and operational support across cloud environments

Requirements

• US government client experience is required
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field
• Minimum 7 years experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or platform operations
• Minimum 5 years designing and supporting AWS environments
• Experience with AWS networking, security, storage, and compute services
• Experience implementing Terraform (or similar IaC tools)
• Experience supporting highly available, resilient enterprise environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
• AWS Advanced Networking certification
• Experience in federal government / highly regulated environments
• Experience with Databricks or large-scale analytics platforms
• Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD, and DevSecOps
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST security frameworks
