Cloud Engineer - VMWare

Role Overview

ManTech is seeking a Senior VMware Cloud Engineer for the CASTLE-NET Program. This is a fully remote, full-time position supporting U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) OCIO/G-6 with agile, integrated enterprise IT support services.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud-based computing solutions and infrastructure for CASTLE-NET projects.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, optimized performance, and robust security for cloud applications.
• Work primarily with VMware vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and vRealize Suite to manage virtualized environments.
• Manage VMware Cloud Foundation and support Private Cloud to Public Cloud migration.
• Support hybrid cloud networking using HCX.
• Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and IT leadership for seamless integration and alignment to objectives.
• Deliver responsive customer support and world-class IT services to USACE end-users.
• Provide secure, modernized technological solutions that strengthen the IT foundation.

Requirements

• US Citizen with a Secret security clearance prior to starting.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of cloud engineering experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure components.
• Scripting/automation skills: Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Certifications (preferred): VCP-CMA, VCP-DCV.
• Minimum acceptable certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Architect.
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with USACE or other federal agency cloud infrastructures and policies.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and stay current with industry trends.

Compensation

• $117,000.00 – $195,100.00 (projected range). Final compensation may vary based on contract wage determination factors.
