About the role

Role Overview

Optomi is seeking an experienced Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer to lead enterprise application migrations to AWS for a customer in the financial industry. This is a remote role with occasional travel, focused on modernizing complex applications through secure AWS architectures and migration best practices.

Responsibilities

Lead enterprise application migrations to AWS from assessment through deployment.
Perform application discovery, dependency mapping, and migration planning using AWS best practices (including 6R methodologies).
Design AWS landing zones, networking, and secure cloud architectures.
Build and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with customer stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and ensure successful migrations.

Qualifications

Cloud engineering experience with AWS platform services.
Demonstrated hands-on application migration experience to AWS.
Deep expertise in AWS core services:
- EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch
Proficiency with IaC tools: AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
Strong understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and migration best practices.
Experience with migration tooling:
- AWS Migration Hub, Application Migration Service (MGN), DMS
Hands-on scripting ability: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Nice to Have

Experience specifically supporting enterprise cloud modernization efforts.
