About the role

Role Overview

Cloud Engineer – GCP Migration (FinTech) at a hands-on cloud delivery team focused on building secure, scalable infrastructure for a critical transformation programme.

Contract: 6 months (likely extension) | Remote: Fully remote | Start: ASAP | Rate: $80/hour

Responsibilities

Deliver cloud and application migrations to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform (IaC)
Deploy and operate containerized workloads on Kubernetes / GKE
Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and security teams
Support development, testing, and production environments
Ensure reliability, performance, and security best practices

Required Experience

Strong hands-on experience with GCP
Production experience with Terraform
Kubernetes / GKE experience on live environments
Background in cloud migration or platform modernization projects
Solid understanding of networking and Linux
Experience working in fast-paced, delivery-focused teams

Nice to Have

CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Cloud Build)
Monitoring & observability tools
GCP IAM and security exposure
Experience in FinTech or other regulated environments
