About the role

Role Overview

Cloud Engineer / Platform Engineer (Remote) ArcheSys Inc is seeking a Cloud Engineer to help design, develop, and implement secure and efficient cloud solutions for public sector customers in a fully remote, full-time role.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure development & maintenance
- Set up and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation
Automation & optimization
- Automate deployment processes to reduce manual work
- Optimize cost, system performance, and resource utilization
- Create automation scripts/tools for installation, configuration, and maintenance
CI/CD (continuous integration & deployment)
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
- Enable integration of application solutions into automated pipelines
Collaboration & technical support
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate applications and services
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues for development teams
Monitoring & incident response
- Implement monitoring for proactive issue detection
- Participate in incident response to restore services and manage recoveries
- Set up monitoring/observability using New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
- Contribute to alerting mechanisms
Documentation & knowledge sharing
- Document procedures/configurations/specifications and maintain a knowledge base
- Support compliance by following IT policies and guidelines
Professional development
- Stay current with emerging cloud and DevOps technologies and best practices

Requirements

U.S. authorization required (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD)
Residency requirement: lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years
Public Trust Clearance: either currently held or able to obtain

Nice-to-haves (implied by tooling)

Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD tools, and observability/monitoring stacks
Comfort working in a consulting environment supporting government/public-sector customers
