About the role

Role Overview

Cloud DevOps Engineer (Fully remote, full-time)

Join ArcheSys, a technology consulting firm serving public sector customers. You’ll design, develop, and implement secure and efficient cloud solutions, collaborating closely with customers and internal teams while supporting delivery through a DevOps/consulting lens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Development & Maintenance
    • Set up and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
    • Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Automation & Optimization
    • Automate deployment processes to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
    • Optimize cost, system performance, and resource utilization.
    • Build automation scripts/tools to streamline installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
  • CI/CD
    • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
    • Help development teams integrate their solutions into automated pipelines.
  • Collaboration & Technical Support
    • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of applications and services.
    • Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution support for development teams.
  • Monitoring & Incident Response
    • Implement monitoring for system health and proactive issue detection.
    • Participate in incident response and service restoration after outages.
    • Use monitoring/observability tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
    • Help develop alerting mechanisms for proactive notifications.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
    • Document procedures, configurations, and specs; maintain a team knowledge base.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation (designs, configurations, procedures).
    • Support compliance initiatives by following established IT policies and guidelines.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay current with emerging cloud and DevOps best practices through internal/external training.

Requirements (as provided)

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD)
  • Residency requirement: lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years
  • Clearance: Public Trust Clearance (or ability to obtain)

Nice-to-haves / Skills implied by the posting

  • Hands-on cloud infrastructure and IaC development on AWS
  • CI/CD pipeline ownership/maintenance with common CI tools (Jenkins/GitLab CI/CircleCI)
  • Monitoring and incident response experience using typical observability stacks
